I would do anything for love, but I won't do that...

During Baby Care Basics class, couples are shown a quick video of what happens during delivery, including the cutting of the umbilical cord.  We are told we have the option to have the nurse cut it for us, if my partner doesn't want to.

(While walking to the car)

J-Man: I'm not sure I want to cut the cord, babe.

Me: Why not?! That's part of the experience. That's your duty as my "primary support person."

(He makes a face.)

Me: It won't be that bad. Lady said I won't even feel it, neither will the baby. Cord doesn't have nerve endings.

J-Man: Yeah but...how would you like to cut into flesh? (Shudders)

Me: Thankfully I'll be so out of it from all the pains of CHILDBIRTH that I won't have to think about that. Hahaha! It's all on you.

J-Man: Is it really that important to you?

Me: I don't want you to miss out. It'll be like snipping through isaw. :-D

J-Man: Fine, if I have to do it, I'll do it right. With a katana or a samurai sword.
